I hope you’ve had a great festive period and I wish you a healthy and prosperous 2023!
I hope you’ve had a great festive period and I wish you a healthy and prosperous 2023!
The years are just flying by and somehow my task list still isn’t getting any shorter. I’ll take that over twiddling my thumbs any day though. I wanted to take a minute to recap last year and tell you about my plans for this year.
2022
There was a lot of progress in WP-Ensure last year and it feels good to know that my services are useful to people. One of the big changes at the end of last year was my moving back to entrepreneurship full-time. On top of that, the monitoring backend has improved, the website has been re-coded and I have some interesting marketing material on the way. I am also working on a huge project that you’ll hear about in the fullness of time. Never a dull moment!
Plans for 2023
It’s easy to make resolutions but keeping them is the challenge. For this year I want to continue what I am doing and improve the service.
Web application auditing has become more popular as people realise their sites aren’t as safe as they used to be. I not only enjoy the auditing and reporting process, but as a web developer I have also been able to help companies and organisations to secure those assets after auditing is complete so it feels good to not only work on abstract issues but actually get my hands slightly grimy (I’d say dirty but it’s a keyboard after all) by doing some concrete work also. I love the combination and I think it’s something a lot of companies need. I do wish I could find the right job title for that though, I don’t seem to fit anywhere.
Another challenge has been finding the time to work on marketing. I have a few ideas and scripts written for videos. I have decided that marketing this service is going to be as authentic as possible. I am not a fan of Silicon-Valley-happiness and whistling tunes so you’re stuck with me and all my Scottishness while I explain what I do and why.
Here’s to 2023! May it be better than the last few years we all had to endure!
