I gave a lighting talk at WordCamp Finland 2023 which is now online for all the world to see. Here are a few highlights and links to good talks on the day.
I was proud (and nervous) about giving a lightning talk at WordCamp Finland last year. I condensed as much as I could and ploughed through, and admittedly it wasn’t nearly as scary as I thought it would be, because the WordPress community is awesome.
The talks are now online on WordPress.tv and my talk in particular is called War on WordPress. I broke down the basics of what bots do and what we can do about it. My slides are here (PDF) if you’d like the overview.
Néstor Angulo gave a great talk about recovering your site and reputation after a hack. He has a lot of other talks from other WordCamp events as well that you should check out.
Jaakko Alajoki CTO and Founder from Evermade also gave a talk that resonated about why we should be creating native Gutenberg blocks.
WordPress through the Terminal by Milana Cap gave me new ideas on how people are using the terminal including some more advanced WP-CLI usage and extending it.
All in all, it was a nice few days, I caught up with old friends and co-workers, participated in Contributor Day, heard from some of the top WP professionals in Finland (and from abroad), and learned a lot.
